There are few photos that touch our hearts, I mean really touch our hearts. This is one that touches my heart on many of different levels. As a ex-soldier this has very special meanings to me. No one should go unknown especially someone who has put their life on the line for his/her country. Being at this cemetery was quite emotional for me but when I came across this head stone it brought a tears to my eyes.
I spent the better part of the day here at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno California. Dedicated on Memorial Day, May 30, 1942 this 161 acre cemetery was constructed in 1937 with its first interments in 1941. As of 2008 there are 139,037 inurnments.
