On the wall of En Garde Fencing in Santa Rosa California is a cluster of broken foil’s. Anytime a foil is broken during a match the broken foil is placed among the others. To me this was a gold mine of opportunity.
When I took this photo I thought it would be interesting, but when I got it onto my system at home it was a little lackluster. So I dropped out all the saturation, bumped up the blacks and whites. Then I added film grain into the images to give it some depth and character. Please enjoy.
