I took this photo while on a Sonoma County Photography Group photo excursion to Armstrong Redwoods. Armstrong Redwoods is one of the most beautiful California State Parks and it is right here in Sonoma County. – http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=450.
Speaking of Sonoma County Photography Group (aka, SoCoPhoGro) Oct 22nd was our 6 month anniversary. Remy Gervais and I are very proud of what we have built with this group. As of today we are 122 strong and growing. Please check us out at http://www.meetup.com/Sonoma-County-Photography-Group.
This photo is one of my favorites from that day. As we walked along the trails I became fascinated with the way the curvilinear path flows with the land and the flora. I thought that this would be a good time to play with lines. Of the six elements of design – Line, shape, texture, form, pattern and color – line is the strongest.
There are many types of lines but curvilinear lines are the most dominate in nature. Most people relate to curvilinear lines as soft, calm, relaxing and tranquil.
Soft, calm, relaxing and tranquil is precisely how this photo makes me feel. Please enjoy.
