A couple of weekends ago my wife and I went to the beach (Goat Rock just north of Bodega Bay Northern California to be specific) for our anniversary. You know a nice relaxing day of walking on the beach. Well that was the idea until we came across this gem of a subject. Well I don’t think that I need to tell anyone that this quickly became an obsession for me. OK a minor obsession, but one none the less.
When it comes to me and photography Heather is extremely understanding. When we came across this she looked at me and seen the restrained jubilation in my eyes and said with a loving voice, “Have fun dear”. She smiled and took the other camera and went down the beach and played with some creative shots (see below “Ocean this way”), leaving me to my treasure.
This is what is left of a P&H Model-206 Corduroy power shovel used for mining crushed seashell built in the 1920s. I mean come on look at this thing. How awesome is this. This bad boy is 70+ years old and is still of use. Well at least for people like me.
Just so you know I only spent about 40 minutes shooting the power shovel and we went on to have a great day at the beach.
